Wi-Fi driver support: what information to send

Help identify appropriate wireless driver guidance by collecting the model, hardware revision and operating system details.

Identify the hardware

Read the model printed on the device or packaging. Include the hardware revision if present. Do not assume that similarly named adapters use identical chipsets or drivers.

Record the software environment

Provide the operating system name and version, device type and what happened during installation. For managed or refurbished fleets, state whether the system image has restrictions on driver installation.

Describe the symptom

Explain whether the adapter is not detected, cannot see a network, cannot connect or disconnects during use. Include the router model and frequency band when relevant. Avoid sending passwords or Wi-Fi keys.

Request the correct files

Use the support inquiry to request guidance for the exact model and revision. Confirm installation steps and compatibility with our team rather than installing unrelated drivers from an unknown source.
